Bulgarian National Costumes
Bulgarian national costumes are colorful, bright and beautiful. In different country's region you can see different colored dress. The most often used color is red—the color of the blood. It symbolizes health and strength. The white co lour is an important one, too. It is symbol of purity and open-heartedness. National costumes are richly decorated with embroideries. Interesting elements are the "pafti", that are some kind of belt buckle. Today national costumes are not worn in everyday life, but you can see some elements from them in modern ethno-dresses.
